I present you a record that's every bit as experimental as Disco Volante, but is a bit more easier to get into - Perdition City by Ulver.
What started as a second wave Norwegian black metal band, soon they completely switched styles after first few albums. Perdition City was the first shift in sound, with elements of electronica, trip-hop, jazz and dark ambient all mixed together in a wonderful soundscape. Some parts are very reminiscent of the Blade Runner soundtrack, and I absolutely love that.
