phone app for guitar effects

I’ve heard of people downloading apps on their phones for guitar effects that you can somehow plug into your amp and play your guitar using the effects that are on the app. Maybe there isn’t such a thing but i heard about it and was interested. So any app suggestions that you guys have used?

I’ll check it out thanks Ids, I heard that some apps offer effects that certain bands use and I thought I may look for an A7x guitar effect or something

Yeah, Bias FX is great. I use it on my PC but there is also a version for iphone or ipad. Sadly there isn’t a version for android. If you have an android you can download Tonebridge Guitar Effects and you’ll have bunch of sounds from famous songs.

So now how do I plug in my guitar to my phone?

I think you need an iRig cable for that.

I used to use Amplitube quite a bit when I was touring..it’s pretty awesome for what it is! Never ran it though an amp though. You hook up to it using an “iRig”. I keep hearing and seeing a lot about “Tonebridge” but I’ve never used it and I’m not quite sure how it works?

You just plug one end of the cable into your guitar and the other end in iRig. Then you plug another cable on the otherside of iRig and the other end in your amp. And then you plug iRig in your phone or ipad and then you can choose bunch of pedals.

iRig sounds like Apple. But its compatible with Android, right?
Btw this sounds like cheating, there must be a downside^^

I think it should work with any device, instead of just apple. I don’t have one though so I may be wrong

It’s compatible with both apple and android. You can plug it in the headphone jack which all android phones have I think. Newer iphones don’t have a jack so you need an adapter to plug it in.

Definitely check out Tonebridge! It’s made by Ultimate Guitar and might be the best free software for mobile device effects. I don’t use it much because I have a modeling amp with plenty on it… But for travel, you can’t beat it! Headphones and a device to plug into instead of bringing an amp and all your effects

Hey guys I really cant find an iRig which is compatible with Android AND is a Stompbox (definetly want to connect it to my Amp and not earphones)
Some recommendation?
