hey, i have a question for people who have a sustainiac guitar, can you guys hit pinch harmonics using the neck pickup?(the sustainiac) because i have a syn custom s and i can do them perfectly on the bridge pickup, but i cant in the neck
I can’t really hit pinch harmonics on the neck pickup all the time on a guitar without a sustainiac. I think that’s kind of a trademark with harmonics. They are easier on the bridge pickup has something to do with frequencies and treble and stuff like that.
On all guitars it tends to be easier as pinch harmonics are normally quite sharp sounds and the neck pickup won’t respond as well/give you the sound you desire as it tends to be warmer.
Neck pickups are most always a lower frequency than the bridge, which makes pinch harmonics difficult in the first place.. Hah the position of the neck pickup makes them difficult also..And the sustainiac by itself is actually a single coil pickup..which makes pinch harmonics damn near impossible..the odds are not ever in your favor lol..you can do it but most likely they won’t sound very pleasing or how they’re supposed to. With the sustainiac function switched on (even with the pickup selector set to neck) the sustainiac overrides the actual neck pickup all together and engages the bridge pickup and the magnetic strip of the sustainiac (the driver)..making pinch harmonics sound awesome and squealy again
