playing by ear

so i have tinitis(ringing in the ears)from years of heavy equipment and no hearing protection(let this be a lesson to you young people,always wear hearing protection,even at concerts)anyhoo,it makes it hard to play by ear,can any of you think of a work around for me,thank you,yall are the best,John

pretty sure there are hearing aids one can get to counter it and make those higher tones distinguishable. They're pretty pricey but the most full proof 'work around' i can think of

I got some limited use earplugs for drumming, should I replace them right away? I think it's 100 uses
