Hello guys, I had an idea after Syn asked for videos from community members about composing solos: why not building our own song?
If enough people are interested, I will make a backing track in the upcoming days; something simple based on catchy riffs and probably a clean part in between. The song will be about 5 minutes long; not too long, not too short.
The reason why I want to keep the song structure simple is that I want guitarist of ALL levels to participate. The aim of this website is to put in light all guitarists and build an atmosphere favourable for progress, right? So I’m asking anyone here who would be able to compose a solo over a backing track, and record it on camera with a decent sound and video quality, to join me on this. Again, your solo doesn’t have to be particularly complex or anything, just do what your skills enable you to play! Actually I’d be much more interested in gathering guitarists from all levels than only hardcore shredders, because if someone who’s not from this community happen to watch the final video, I’d expect him to understand this website is made for everyone and make him comfortable with the idea of joining us if he’s a beginner.
I don’t have any idea of how many people will be interested in that, but I think it would be a good way to show what you learned here, make something together, maybe make people join us, and most importantly: HAVE FUN!
So if you wanna be in, let me know in the comments telling me about yourself and your level a little bit! I’ll be able to organize this better when I know how many people are interested in the project.

I’ve watched some of your videos, and maybe it could fit in despite the sound quality. If enough people are in, I’ll make the backing track and send it to you. Maybe you could try to play something over it and send me your contribution. I’ll try to find a way to get the best quality as possible out of it and see what happens.

I honestly have been thinking about buying a decent interface for a pretty long time so it’s not that bad really just have to figure whether I can afford it next month. As far as I know an interface does more than just a cable.

I’d really like to join. But I don’t have soundcard. I have Zoom G3Xn I’m recording with USB directly. So If you don’t like the sound you can record my part yourself. But If you don’t like the solo, be clear to me. I’ll be quit

Don’t worry about the riffs and the song structure. I’ll do all the backing track myself, it’ll be much simpler. You’ll just have to make a solo over it, once I have made it.
Baris, I think a zoom will be far enough to record and get a good sound quality.
So far, here’s the list of potential participants:
– Ids Schiere
-Sayonil Mitra
– Dan Shipway
– Barış KIVRAK

If you can find a Rocksmith guitar cable for sale nearby (I’m finding them through Facebook Marketplace for like $20) you can get some decent recording out of that. You just have to add effects through your computer

I may just get one of those cables. Does anyone have some experience with Bias Fx STD and is it any good?
Because I’m thinking if I’m gonna get that cable I want to sound good and Bias Fx STD seems like a quality affordable option for that.
