Yo im doing good dude! ive been learning the CAGED major scales which are all in d major, and have started to build different chords from them and just understand them more, mostly because I looked at lesson further on and couldnt really do much without knowing my major scales, so im getting my head around them. Also been listening to pinkly smooth and @Brian Haner Sr. comedy stuff which is fucking hilarious yet musically brilliant!

How is my Guitar Family doing? I thought since it's been a while since we last made an update regarding our playing, it would be nice if we could do a little update during theese tough times. Share our goals for this time of social distancing?
    Soo here I go:

Man loved your video! Quite a trick with the sock haha!
I'm doing great! I feel like I don't use my time as effective as I should and I don't play guitar as much as I want but I improve nonetheless. Trying to get better with theory stuff so I learned major and minor scale. Now I might go back to the CAGED lessons to put it all together. Also focusing on Rhythm playing a lot! With my goal to cover a couple of songs I might skip Faith though because it's tedious to learn the small solos within that song. Might do a Metalminute about it though.

Yeah...Faith is kickass but the interlude is tooo damn fast. I understand man. But go for it. Currently this is my playlist...or set I guess.

I can play it slow but getting it up to speed and nailing it when playing the whole thing is just too time consuming right now! Love your setlist!
    This might be mine:
    Hand of Blood
    Room 409
    Drowning in the Sound
    Faint
    Devil's Dance
    Before I Forget
Only got the first two down as for now. Also guess the bands :p

Faith is the song where my fretting hand tenses up....but I love it. Keep going at it, you will eventually nail it. Regarding the Bands....Faint Linkin Park and Before I forget Slipknot (which will be on my list as soon as I can get my guitar to stay in the low tuning.....) The rest....Hand of Blood maybe Slayer? XD Im very bad at my metal trivia...but I am working at it...made a new list of bands I need to listen to their discographpy too.

I’m doing good bud! I’m writing a lot of new music (I’ll occasionally post an update on it) I’m pretty proud of how this is coming along and I hope you all will enjoy the music too! It’s giving me a lot of motivation to start getting into a more balanced practice routine and it’s helped a ton. I miss friends and stuff but it could be worse. I hope you’re all doing well! Should I post a video of me playing some of my music that I’m writing? I’m always a bit scared that if I post on YouTube that someone will take my ideas or something, just the way I was raised I guess.

Sure mate. Post it here, make it a private video on your youtube channel...I did it with both videos I uploaded on here. I am extremely shy too, also english is not my first language soo there is that......but the more you do it the better.

For me, life has generally been busier. Since I've worked from home for 10 years, and my industry (banking) is considered essential, it's been a matter of continuing to do everything I alwasy did, while adding oversight of some hardware and configuration changes to ensure the newly-WFH members of our 275,000 employee base can actually, you know, DO IT, and having a MUCH bigger presence at my office, a/k/a my house. Wife, son and daughter are ALL off from school, and all demand more of my time than usual, so this has been an impact to me for different reasons.

An old family friend we've known for decades got sick with COVID and was dead in 2 days, before we even knew he was sick. My father was rushed to the hospital in New Jersey for having a 102 fever for five days, along with delirium and other symptoms. He tested negative for COVID, but he has mild pneumonia and a new COPD diagnosis, so he is now just as susceptible as my mother (they are 82 and 78), who has COPD and mild emphysema. So far so good.

Other friends from high school have suffered and recovered, or appear to be recovering, so that's good, but this is some scary shit. Not panic scary, but it is important to follow CDC and WHO guidelines to stay safe and keep your famililes safe.

I want to try and do more metal minutes. I've been slacking. @Syn Gates had gifted me his pickup set for Christmas, and I finally, like a month ago, went to install them in the blue quilt-top Ibanez. The pickup cavities were not sized for these monsters, so it waited. Well, today, the wait ended. I took a router bit in my cordless drill and made the pickup cavities big enough. I just installed them. Now I have to do the soldering (which I hate) and try to get the wiring right. I will do that today, and a video review will follow once they're tweaked for height and feeling good.

Been getting back into playing slowly but surely thanks to everyone's advice the other day! Made some great progress in a little song I fell in love with recently, and I'm planning to start going back over old lessons to rebuild my playing, so I'm doing well! \m/
Outstanding! It's important to always find some song that you are passionate about! Otherwise the learning process will be so much more tedious. Keep going at it! Stay strong! And remember! HAVE FUN!

We live indeed in a very eye opening time right now. We should not be afraid of this, but be more caucious, my dad is in a risk group (he is 79) and he has been staying home uninterruptedly. As you well said, we need to folllow the guidelines and do it by the book. As far as metal minutes...I am sure that after the soldering is done....that baby will ready to scream like there's no tomorrow.

Im doing good man, still working i only had today off so i could only record one video this weekend hahaha. Trying to learn all the songs that lynyrd skynyrd did as their setlist in 1976 right now. My goal is to eventually start learning full albums/bands live setlists and making them albums on youtube.
