Recording guitar on pc?

So I recently bought a Rocksmith guitar cable so I can record on my PC and I’m having issues finding a good program with built-in distortion, leveling, and other effects. So I was curious what you guys use. I tried audacity but was wondering if there were any good alternatives.

I use Logic pro x, its a Daw (digital audio workstation). It has built in amp which arent too ba but to record guitar i also have an external sound card where I plug my guitar. That was my old setup but now I ditch logic’s amps because I have a kemper. But yeah the built in amps in logic will do the job and will allow you to record your guitar, bass and even program drum patterns to write songs and such. Thats how I wrote my demos.

When it comes to pc-mac recording I am a hell of a curious aswell!
I can say that i have learnt pretty much everything that I know Online ( Youtube, Syn school, other forums…) – And i must say
There are millions of ways to record, master, eq in a Home studio or just with a simple usb cable haha.
Are you using a PC or a MAC?
If you are using a Mac you can try: Garageband, Logic pro, Ableton, etc
If you are using a PC: audacity, ableton… Oh, I almost forgot! I think that you can use Amplitube aswell.

Logic Pro X is the hands down best for Mac, on PC it’s a grab bag and I’m not entirely familiar, maybe Bias FX or Amplitube into a DAW?

I use Audacity and I would say it does a decent job given it’s free software. But it’s just for recording. It is not a DAW. So definitely go for the paid ones. Logic Pro is the best. If you are on Windows, Ableton is the equivalent of Logic Pro. Both are really awesome. You do not need any third software. For cheaper options, Reaper is doing pretty well. I have not used it. But many YouTube guitarist (even the big ones) suggest it.

I have a Focusrite scarlett solo and a copy of protools first. I then run that through bias fx for a Rammstein tone. Protools first is free and has quite a lot of different features. I did have the Rocksmith cable for years do but I thought an upgrade was overdue but none the less it gets the job done well.
(Note: I don’t use these just yet as I am figuring out how to use them)
