Does anyone know of a good lesson out there for seize the day. I was thinking it would be the perfect song to help with chord transissions as well as being able to play an A7X song. Also if anyone has time to make a lesson that would be a huge help as well.

Seriously Jak, how much time do you have on your hands? I have been having troubles to find time to practice for the past week so there are just certain bits and pieces I do on some days for like 30 minutes up to 2 hours but that’s only lIke max 3 times a week

There are 24 hours in a day. I make it work. I don’t spend time doing things like watching TV, social networking, browsing the internet or hanging out with many people. Guitar comes first for me. I sleep for eight hours, work for eight, and still have eight hours left in the day which four of that goes to guitar 😊😊

Ok thanks… Also if you don’t want to do the solo then don’t worry about it cause I usually watch Chris Zoupa on YouTube for those and he does one for this song. But if you would like to do it go for cause it’s always better to have two perspectives.

I don’t mean to sound abrasive but Chris misses a lot of notes and plays some things with the wrong rhythmic feel. When I was trying to learn the Hail to the King solo a lot of people told me to watch his tutorial. He’s a great guitar player but he just misses a lot of aspects. He may play the Seize the Day solo perfectly but others… Not so much. You’d be better off trying to find a video of Syn playing it live or doing the video with YouTube slow downer.

Ok thanks I’ll definitely post something but it might take me a while it’s only like the second solo I’m trying to learn so far. I’m hoping it will make me a better player by trying hard at it even if I don’t get it perfect and maybe give me a new view on music, as learning a new song usually does for me.

There are a good number of 1-1/2 step bends in there, too, which are DEFINITELY hard for newer players, and even some seasoned players who don’t spend serious time on bends and vibrato. In a sense, pattern stuff and sweep stuff can be easier than that sometimes, so don’t beat yourself up if you struggle with it for a while.

Yeah I think I’m good with the bends. When I learned those that was the coolest thing I knew how to play so I really tried to get my fingers to work through that pain and now I use bends all the time when I try some blues improv. (Even though I suck lol)

Alec, when you go to learn this solo, make sure you make a mental note of what scales and their positions he’s playing out of or otherwise all you’re doing is learning a song and not actually learning anything. And learn the rhythm section too!
