Shredding with Delay

I always had this problem. Suppose you are playing some solo which has a significant delay and distortion, then suddenly you have to do some shredding and go back to normal melodic playing. What approach do you guys take to resolve this? Cuz shredding with delay makes the notes hazy for me.

i personally prefer reverb, it gives more ”depth” to the guitar tone. But i have 3 presets on my pedal, a clean one, one for soloing that has a bit of delay and reverb and is a bit louder than the riffing preset that only has some reverb.
But if you dont have any pedal to change tones, i would go with one that is kinda in the middle ground.

Personally I use reverb and delay. My reverb usually in David Gilmour setting (basically lots of reverb) and my delay is very slight that it’seems barely noticeable but still there to fatten up your tone a little bit and shredding works fine for me like that (sometimes my delays settings randomly change because I accidentally hit the knobs or something like that)

I dont use my delay until the end of the solo usually.. I never usually have it on during the solo. I also always add in a some chorus in some parts too, I normally dont have the reverb, atleast I dont think I do.. the amp might have it preset I couldn’t tell you to be honest lol. Maybe someone can show a video showing the different between the reverb and none so we can really see the difference. or well, you could do it with all the effects honestly.
