I think I read something that they don't really Break Up after retirement. Who knows, maybe they will even make some new music in the future
Their manager said that they will be still "active", but that means like releasing new merch and stuff. Definitely no touring or new music.

I also heard a little something about Kerry King's new project that's coming later in 2020.

Yeah but still they are artists.
And do you think that someone who loves what he does will stop doing what he loves?

yeah but maybe the got tired as they grow older, physically its really hard to be on tour 24/7 and mentally too, maybe they want to be with their families or just do something else instead of music, they are persons just like us, so its comprehensible that they wanted to stop.

You're right. That's why I had more studio music in mind than touring. You know, never say never.

Sad to see these guys retire but at least they are going out on top. Caught them here a week ago and they didn't miss a beat! I seem to remember an interview from a year or two ago with Tom talking about how much of his own children's milestones he missed due to being in the studio or on the road and how upset that made him feel all of these years later. Now with a granddaughter that's still very young he is stepping back and aiming to see those milestones he missed with his own children. Pretty solid reason to me to step back for a while anyway.
