Another great one that is very simple and effective is “Transcribe!” That’s the one Ive been using for years. I also has a spectrum analysis which shows the notes and overtones being played in any given moment which helps if you cant decipher a chord or note.

Amazing Slow Downer. Dumb, if very descriptive, name, and a little pricey, but HOLY COW IS IT WORTH IT.

I can’t tell you how much I wish this existed back when I started learning songs and solos.
Lately I’ve been using it to build downpicking speed with Master of Puppets, which is strict eighth-notes, all downpicked, at 210BPM. I can play through at like 90% speed – I never spent real time working on superfast downpicking. As long as I could play Maiden and stuff, I was cool – but now I want to hit some faster stuff in my old age.

I use an app called anytune, there’s a free version and paid version, but the free version can still do pretty much everything you need. You can add markers, loop a certain part of the song, change the pitch if you want to, so for example if a songs is Eb tuning you can make the pitch 1 semitone higher to transcribe it in E standard tuning.
