What a great song, and a GREAT ALBUM (them, on that tour, with Pantera opening at Meadowlands Summerfest in New Jersey in 1992 was among the TOP FIVE shows I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen many, many hundreds of shows).
Also, that song is a great example of using double-stops to write riffs. Randy Rhoads did that a lot, too, along with MANY others. I focused on spicing up lead playing in the vid, but writing riffs is huge, Dan! Thanks!

I’m not entirely sure whether we’re still doing this but here’s my latest one. It’s basically me teaching a John Mayer lick. It’s also a great example of ending on the Major 3rd and using a major 7th in your soloing that works like treat!

So sorry to hype up this topic again then leave it hanging! Turns out a 4 day weekend isn’t a lot of time if you schedule everything humanely possible for it. I haven’t forgotten about what I said I’d share
    1. Switching from clean/acoustic to distorted/electric solos for a different vibe (got a lot of examples so I may do more than one minute)
    2. Not being scared to use the lower strings to add groove (at this point just finding/writing licks to use as examples)
Something else came up in brainstorming and I’ll share that too:
The importance of practice (NOT learning) through muscle memory instead of constantly looking down at your picking or fretting hand
Won’t set a date to work on them, I’ll just try my best everyday. Look forward to seeing more of your guys’s tips and tricks!

Like Ekrem says the only way to remember it is to either record it or write it down.
Personally I tend to remember the melodies but forget everything that goes around the melody(like the shreddy bits and embellishments and stuff like that). It definetely gets better over time but remembering anything is repetition in the end.

I’ve been wanting to make this one for a while but could never figure out how to paint the whole picture in 1 minute so I finally just figured heck I’ll just make it however long I want it to be and don’t post it on Instagram.
    Happy New Year!
