So I’m at the bit more theory and technique application part I want to do(hence the interval talk in the note choice video). Basically I was thinking about taking some licks I like for multiple videos(mine, Syn, Django anyone really) and try to give some theoretical insight on why they work.
My question is: would you like to see that?

Yes! This was such a good thing to think about because it really does have a huge impact on your playing! It was something that I did naturally that I didn’t pay attention to. But I’m going to be more conscious with it because as somebody with shorter fingers, I’m sure it’ll help me what I’m struggling with reaching something with my pinky and my ring finger. Totally proud of you for doing this!

That’s fantastic to hear! I have tiny little kid hands and my fingers are also short, but they look really long. It also came to my mind when I was trying to play a guitar that had a neck that was a bit too big for my hand to completely get around. And I was also sitting here wondering, “What wouldn’t someone think of when they’re playing guitar? Especially if they’re already good at it.” I definitely think this could help us both and others, as well! Thank you so much, Jak!

Well I would definitely also like to add that this couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m actually practicing right now and especially in modal patterns there are some things that are hard for me to reach with my pinky without a cramp coming in my hand. I’ve looked at my thumb and wondered if I could reposition it and truthfully not only could I reach it better, the cramping went away! That’s something I’ve been dealing with since I started!!!

Great tip Rowan. I never thought of my thumb position for all these years. Somehow it managed to work out with me even though I started with horrible thumb position. I still do. But its a great tip for beginners since they should not make mistake in this vital thing.

From my other post, I will be LIVESTREAMING tomorrow to talk about the AxeFX, the Syn Cab Pack, with demo, how to dial in a usable guitar tone on a strange or new amp, basics of some effects/pedals, how and why you should be using your laptop or other computer as a guitar interface and other recording tidbits – lots. If we don’t get to some subjects, I’ll do more, assuming it provides value to people.
    You might even LAUGH.
Tomorrow – Friday, October 19th, at 3pm AZT.

Heres my latest one on a way I like to use Bending in my soloing. I first to put a very lousy joke in there on figuring out the bending moment distribution first but it was almost impossible to do that and still
have a 1 minute video that’s elaborate enough.

Hey Ids, to answer your question, I´d love to see you do that but maybe check with everyone if it fits into the solo tips or if you wanna do a seperate forum topic (and possibly have them contribute as well). Loved your last lesson too! For Ed, I got everything ready to watch the stream, looking forward to hear your insight! And for everyone in general, I´m gonna upload my last lesson and one or two new ones onto the forum cause I completely forgot, they should be out until Sunday both here and on Instagram. Hope you all have a great shreddy weekend!
