Whaddup Synners and Gators!

So I had this dumb idea, why dont we share our first song ever written describing the process. Including details such as what you did to write it and at what time of your yourney you write it, basically how long did it take you to write your own song. Audio quality does not matter (mine was recorded on a really shitty phone).

Of course I shall beginn:

Good people I present you my first creation! Rainy Evenings

As most of my song after this one, it was written by messing around on the guitar. I hit some weird chords which I though I invented (now I now its maj7 chords mainly). Whilst recording it, outside it was raining and thus the name Rainy Evenings was chosen. This song was written around my 4th month on guitar. I love how you can actually hear the rain outside, but my guitar playing definetly needs some improvement XD.

So! Now its your turn, don't be shy!

I have some but wouldn't know which one was first.

For this one I was really into proggy stuff and exotic scales so I wrote A song based on that. Didn't know theory tbh so it was just whatever sounded good to me.

For this one I was really into curse or castle dragon and Paul Gilbert and in that song there's an Em7 at the start so I wrote a song with that.

For this one I was into zz top style blues

Got into Arpeggios a lot.for this one (also kinda stole the bridge from The Wicked End)

I was practicing technical difficulties at the time and there's an D11 arpeggio in that solo and I wrote this song around it for the band I was in back then

Again don't know which was my first one but these are the ones I still remember writing.

This is my first song that I ever wrote. I did write some riffs before on guitar but I wouldn't call that a song. This is how I wrote it: I was just playing around in my daw and I came up with the melody that starts at 0:17. It sounded alright but nothing special so I started changing synth presets to see if I'll find something good and then after a 100 presets later I found one called "Fairy bells" and it just blew my mind. I reaaaally liked how it sounded and that's the sound that you hear in the song. After that I figured out the theme of the song, it was going to be a dark and atmospheric. And then I just wrote the rest of the song just by playing around with different synths. It took me about 1 month to finish it.

Damn...thats a lot! And all of them different which is awesome! What I like is that you use the metronome...I only recently learned to appreciate it.

I'll have to see if I have it digitized. It would be with an awful drum machine and from the late 1980s. I know what song it is, and it became something cooler when I had a band later, but if I can find the original Tascam 4 track cassette demo, that's the money shot.

I got this one. One sec.. I gotta find the links.

First song I ever wrote. This song.. was rewritten multiple times over the 10 years hit the rhythm remained the same.

I wrote the song on guitar pro over top the rhythm pattern here. Then recorded it and stored it on my Myspace account.. it's still there. Myspace.com/Calvinmusic7

I couldnt play some parts well so I had to rewrite the solo. The intro melody also wasnt mine a buddy made the melody.
.so I rewrote that melody so I could keep claim to myself on the song. His melody is still in the Myspace version.. ver country sounding.

I learned how to finally play the song. Recorded it. Then joined this site. I then realize I was playing in an imaginary scale. So I rewrote the entire song in d minor. Reasoning being the chords I used.

From there I've just need playing that version. It's a beautiful song. And one of my favourites. I could let you listen to the entire song the way it is now.
