So this might sound crazy so most, but I have struggled to learn Stairway to Heaven. I’ve learned how to the rhythm parts to most of the rock songs I like (not much of a lead guy) and some of them are pretty difficult. But I cant ever seem to learn how to play Stairway and I can fingerpick. Just wondering if someone could maybe give me a different perspective on learning it other than guitar tabs. Thanks in advance

Hm...you could try and look at the tabs from a different perspective.

For example, the first bar is an Am chord, more specifically the E form of the Am chord. It then leads into the G form of the C major chord and then into a basic D chord and finally into an Fmaj7 chord.

When I say forms, I am referring to the ones from the CAGED system.

I get what you mean. I appreciate the help! Even after making an account on here most of my guitar journey has been self taught. I tried to learn all the fun stuff for a few years and I just now actually want to dive into learning everything. I’ll give this a shot🤙🏻

My suggestion would be to learn the chord shapes used first and practice switching between them, once you have that down work on the picking.
