String Preference

What types of strings does everyone use? I prefer Ernie Ball over other string brands. Does anyone prefer any one type of strings over the other brands?

Depends on which guitar I’m playing. For my electrics I use elixir strings, For my gitane Savarez Argentine strings and for my Classical I haven’t really fogures out which knes I like the most to be honest

Green ernies. Since day one, and they never break on me. I’ve thought of upgrading to the strings syn uses, but if they dont break on me as it is I dont think its worth the switch, unless its to improve tone.

I like D’Addario 10-52, but my first strings were from Ernie Ball for classic guitar. I would buy Paradigm if they weren’t so expensive in my country.

I use Ernie Ball Slinkys, bottom heavy .10-.54’s on my Schecter, .10-.46’s on my Les Paul, and .09-.46 light bottom strings on my Tele.

I use 9-46 for my 25.5″ necks in E Standard and 10-52 on other guitars for downtuning.
On 24.75″ necks, I use 11-49 for E Standard and 11-56 for my D Standard LP.
As for string brands, I’m agnostic. I go for any stuff in the gauges I seek when it goes on steep sale (usually the Holidays). EB’s and D’addarios usually are the ones that go on sale most frequently. I like the GHS Gilmours a lot too.

they are almost as much as bass strings are in canada. I can buy greens for like nothing compared to them. So unless they really sound good theres no reason to switch for me since my strings never break as it is

I like the Ernie ball skinny top heavy bottoms. They serve well for chugging along on the lower 3 strings, and playing solos on the top 3 strings. Plus Syn uses them too I believe

I use Ernie Ball super Slinkys cobalts on my schecter, Ernie Ball heavy bottoms on my Gibson. Love the way they feel. Always been an Ernie Ball person

I use Ernie Ball Super Slinky Nickel Wound Sets(.009 – .042) for my electric and Ernie Ball Earthwood Extra Light 80/20 Bronze Acoustic Set(.010 – .050) on my acoustic. They are great for my daily practice and they sound good.
