Sweep picking trouble

I’m not terrible at doing it, but every time I turn on the distortion it’s muddy. I guess I’m just not fully there yet. Any tips or suggestions?

I would say that try to work a bit on your left hand muting and try to practice it with distortion(even though you should Be able to do it clean as well).

Keep practicing, there are no shortcuts. This applies to any technique.

Perfect it at a slow pace and move up 5bpm at a time. It’s tedious but necessary.

I agree with everone elsd practice makes perfect. Start slow with a metronome and keep building speed. Make surr you can keep going id say at least five time with thr current speed then move up

Any advice you can offer on left hand muting? I have a crappy sound I can do it slow and I can do it clean but distorted it sounds like well crap. The lesson just didn’t do it for me.

Basically try to lift up the finger you are fretting with slightly and try doing this with distortion. Start slowly with a metronome. The picking hand doesnt really matter try top play the whole arpeggio staccato(either by alternate picking or sweep picking) i would also recommends start doing this with the C shape because That is the easier to shape.
