Depends on the pickups you want. The custom has Syn’s signature pickups in them and the standard has Duncan designed pickups in it. Also the standard has a bolt on neck and a Floyd rose special where the custom has ultra access neck and Floyd rose 1500 series I believe. If you can afford a custom I would get a custom.

I think it should be fine to get standard it depends on the price range difference. You could, later on, install better pickups but I highly doubt the pickups are trash they should be very good. The standard has ebony or different fretboard than custom and has a bolt-on neck rather than smooth neck joint. What you could do is get standard as 2nd hand and then do all the instalments.

Hi Jaylen, firstly all his guitars are so nice I want them all.
I have got the 2018 Synyster Standard, and I believe the only differences between his Custom’s and the standard is the hardware. The standard plays AMAZING, I’ve been and tried out Syn’s Black & Gold Custom S in a store, and playability was exactly the same. This was a display guitar, so it could be overly weathered, bear this in mind.
There may be minor differences, such as the Satin Gold Custom-S has scalloped frets I think, but the fretboard is the same. And the obvious neck joinery difference.
My advice would be to start by grabbing the standard, it’s amazing. Unless you want Syn’s tone 100%, then get his Satin Gold Custom S with USA pickups (I’m buying this one next) & save another £6,000 to buy a Hellwin Cab & Head.

I would say look at the specs here and compare and look at what you find important in a guitar.
