I participated in a talent show in high school. It was the first talent show that the school organised and I was literally the first person to perform and also I was all alone. So needless to say it was pretty nerve racking because I had no idea how it was going to go and if anyone will show up or not because I was performing in front of the school in the schools yard. But before I signed up for it I told myself I would rather go there and perform and absolutely fail than back out of it and wonder what would’ve happened if I did. So when the day came I went out there in front of the school and had a little rehearsal and then the bell rang and the big break started (break that lasts 15 minutes). As I started to play, people started coming out of the school and started gathering around me because they saw me play. And actually a lot of people stayed the full 15 minutes just to see me perform. Even the school principal came as well as few teachers and they brought a camera just to record me. In my head I was thinking: “this is crazy!” but i kept it chill because I’m actually doing it and no one is going to die. I made some mistakes but no one seemed to notice or care. When I finished they all started clapping and even some teachers came up to me and complimented me. My performance wasn’t incredible or mindblowing, it was pretty average but everybody seemed to enjoy it so the whole thing was pretty wholesome. In the end, I’m very happy that I decided to do it because I’m not wondering what could’ve been if I didn’t do it.
My advice to you would be to just be relaxed on the stage and be happy that you are actually performing in front of the school because that doesn’t happen every day. Don’t be worried what people think, just go out there and enjoy. That’s all that matters.
As for the Shepherd of Fire, there aren’t that many parts in the song. You have the main riff, verse, chorus and solo. So you can try to what Ids said cause there isn’t much else to do.
