Hey there guys! I know I’m posting about as much as our Korean spammers are today. But I have been having soooo much excitement I can’t contain myself! And since the Koreabots are out in full swing tonight, I’m posting my little video here. But it’s not just to get attention, comments, and likes.
I thought the song sounded super fucking cool so I decided to give it a shot. I heard it and thought, “I bet this starts on an A.” The school’s help has really been paying off because I learned this by ear without a slowdowner program in about ten minutes. My singer then said, “I think you need to play that higher” since I was playing it about two octaves lower. I knew IMMEDIATELY what position to go to and what scales to utilize. Also learning intervals helped a lot on the fast downpicking part because those are intervals, and the more you work on them the better you can easily hear stuff like this! Not to mention, there’s a part where I forgot to slide from a certain position but I knew where I could start and “recover” from, thanks to practicing them so religiously. I hope you enjoy it 🙂
*NOTE* Please pardon the wallpaper being torn down :/ in a remodeling phase

@dominic I kinda feel like the Caged system is the best point to begin. When you grasp Caged you will know your positions well and where to find stuff on the fretboard which is pretty important. When you know Caged you can start to figure out modes, chord theory and stuff like that. Putting all that stuff together really enhances your ability to improvise over any backing track really.
