Hey everyone!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to back up some files from my laptop. I plugged in my external hard drive and... surprise! I forgot the I have a back up of my music library and I decided to go through it.

I found a lot of stuff that I have not listened to in like 6 or 7 years. It's incredible how a song/album can bring back so many memories.

So, now I ask you... what did you listen to ten years ago?

I would like to share with you 3 albums that I have been listening to non-stop this week:

1.- Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold (holy sh*t, this album is almost 10 years old).
Favourite song: Buried Alive (gotta love the headbanging skeletons)

2.- Among the living - Anthrax
Favourite song... Man, this one is rough... but I have to go with "Indians". That bridge before the solo (when they shout: WAR DAAAAAANCE!) always gets me.

3.- Mientras el resto sigue - Guillotina
Mexican hard rock/grunge band. I had the opportunity to see them in 2011 as they were the supporting act of Slash. The band broke up a couple of moths later.

Favourite song: Otra vez

For me 6-7 years ago i was listening to a lot of randy rhoads era-ozzy, Jimi hendrix, red hot chili peppers, iron maiden and of course metallica and avenged sevenfold! I would set up my boombox in my room next to a small solid state fender practice amp, and try and figure out the songs! Fear of the dark by iron maiden is a big one that sticks out, as well as “hey joe” by hendrix

Oh, this question opens a box.
I’ll list a few artists that stayed with me, not all of them may have been exactly from 10 years ago. Maybe 10-15

Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Pink, Anti-Flag, AFI, Aiden, Eminem, Children of Bodom, Caliban, Sum 41, 3 inches of blood, Avril Lavigne (duh), MCR (double duh), random song from various bands such as BFMV, Slipknot, Disturbed, and Soad.

There’s more but I hardly recall their music.

Ten years ago today I'd be 7 coming up on my 8th birthday. Jesus has it been that long? How much shit has happened since then kind of freaks me out. Anyway at that point I didn't have an iPod or a computer yet so no real chance of finding my own taste in music yet. My Mom did try and put on a decently wide variety of music on for me to enjoy. Bands like Celtic Thunder, Allen Stone, Journey, ZZ Top, Quiet Riot, and a whole heap of 40's to late 2000's country music ranging from Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Sr and Jr, Brad Paisely, early Blake Shelton albums, and other stuff that'd pop up on the radio. Dad is an 70's and 80's rock to hard rock guy. Van Halen, Boston, Blue Oyster Cult, Journey, AC/DC, as well as some other artists that both my parents enjoy like Neil Diamond, Weird Al, and ELO. My grandparents listened to a lot of country music when I was there. The same stuff like Mom was showing me but it didn't really go into the 90's era country outside of an artist or two. Late 30's to 80's country with 50's and 60's era stuff being their golden age of listening material. They met a ton of the artists when they'd swing through town and they'd go dancing and probably some drinking being involved. My grandfather on mom's side even went on a dinner date or three with Patsy Cline. So all in all I was lucky to listen to a decently wide variety of music early on. Over the years my music taste shrunk and eventually broadened further than before. Sorry if that was a bit long.

    Damn, this brings back memories.

In the early 2010s I was listening to a lot of Rise Against. They were my go-to band for anything . I also listened to a lot of Story of the Year. Green Day was on my playlist as well back then, along with a bunch of 90s, 80s and 70s songs. Also, I listened to Death Magnetic by Metallica a lot (people hated that album and to this day I still don't understand why).

I listened to the good old Linkin Park, Sum41, Elena Siegman (yes I played call of duty), Billy Talent and a little bit Asking Alexandria.
I still listen to them sometimes, so...
That was also the time I started with Avenged Sevenfold! Nightmare, buried alive and Not ready to die were the first songs (but I think that was 2011)

Considering I was 11, I was just getting into heavier bands at the time, but I was still mainly listening to "easier" bands that i discovered through YouTube and AMV's (anime music videos). So bands like Disturbed, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, System of a Down and stuff like that.

My uncle and sister showed me a bunch of metal bands when I was a kid (Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth etc), but I really started finding bands on my own right around that time. Soon I discovered Avenged and Trivium - and my life was completely changed. Then I disovered all different types of metal because of those two bands and I quickly started getting into melodic death metal, black metal and progressive metal - which is what I primarily listen to now.

I'm just going to throw out a list! Probably missing a few good ones but I had/still have a wide variety of tastes. Some good, some bad. I have a guilty obsession with pop and loveeee me some Kesha first off 😂 And of course a plentiful amount of Avenged!

In no order of favoritism; The Bouncing Souls, Anti-Flag, Flogging Molly, Less Than Jake, NOFX, CKY, Weezer, Blink 182, Sum41, The Real McKenzies, Misfits, Metallica, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, No Use for a Name, Haste the Day, As I lay Dying, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, Alan Jackson, Jake Owen, George Strait, Chris LeDoux, P!nk, Kanye West, Nelly, Sugarland, Kenny C, Lady G.
