I’m sitting here listening to guns n roses and got to thinking about their recent come back and just how huge it has been. It got me thinking about avenged and their future. Will they be a band that keeps on going like Metallica or rolling stones, or will they achieve everything they set out for and head off in their own directions? I also wonder this with alter bridge. Personally I’d like them to keep going and going, but I can see why others wouldn’t. I’m interested in what other people’s thoughts are on this?

I think Avenged will be around for a long time because they know how to draw inspiration for their music. GNR went their own ways because most of the band mates hated each other. A7X are truly friends. I remember hearing this one interview with M Shadows a long time ago. He spoke about how they had to cancel a tour because if they didn’t, “there wouldn’t be an Avenged Sevenfold anymore.” They were going at each other’s throats and needed a break. I feel the band is mature and responsible enough to make it last forever 🤗🤗

    Alter Bridge is Creed minus Scott Stapp, so those guys have proven through thick and thin that they’re all about it. I’ve seen interviews with Mark and Myles, and those two are very close friends. It would take something massive, I think, for a major change in Alter Bridge to happen, and all of them are level-headed, stable, and at least reasonably sober (meaning no substance *issues*).
    Avenged were friends before they were a band. They survived utter devastation and never lost their resolve for their band or each other. It remains to be seen if Brooks is fully enveloped in that family (I hope so), but the remaining four are likely to stay together, again barring something seriously catastrophic. Except Johnny. Fuck that guy. (jk) But seriously, they’ve been through a lot. They’re now stable family men who approach their craft logically and thoughtfully and they are likely to stick it out, as well, until they decide they’re done.
    No one can ever say whether a band will retire from old age together or pack it in earlier, but as long as both bands continue to find personal reward (and enjoy the money), there’s not likely to be a significant enough reason to let it go.

    I also think A7X will be together and growing in the future. Because everything in their creative process is so much dependent on each of thier members. There has been no need to go on individual projects as members. And I don’t want that to happen. I want to see A7X as it is forever. Although I would not mind mind some guest appearances in other bands. For example, if Ghost calls Syn to do one song with them…or If Trivium calls Matt to one song. That’s fine. But A7X has seen a lot as a band And I agree with @ed.

    I agree with you guys before me. I see and want to see Avenged continue and getting bigger. They are a unique team and I think they fit together percectly so I got no worries they’d split up because of that reason one day. Although I could imagine some side projects some day I feel like there is no need for it either, I mean look at the deluxe edition of the Stage. So many musical styles, covers and they all did it together. I guess there is no need for solo projects when your band is fine with first playing a heavy metal song and a spanish classic right after lol.

    @Ed hahaha poor Johnny 😁
    @Sayonil there are a lot of songs where M Shadows or Syn were featured in, for example Matt was a guest vocalist for MGK, Good Charlotte (aswell as Syn), Device, Dirty heads… so many more, Syn was also a guest on Axe Wound (BFMV ‘s singer side project). @dominik I don’t know if you knew about this but I think you would like it 😀

    Hey synners I love
    I think the future holds a lot of good and great things because I do not know a band that has the heart of friendship and talent of the A7X because I say that
    they do not follow that thing, we’re going to always make the same album and I think that’s incredible, because it pulls the creativity of the band taking them to the next level and the fans, although some do not enjoy certain work, are always crazy together
    I really think they’ll be the next metallica or light iron being sensible metallica and bigger and better yet more avenged is the next
    I think that with everyone having a family today the mentalities have returned to the logic of loving art, thinking in business and always thinking about the fans
    The avenged has something that other bands I do not see having that is friendship that matters a lot
    So I really believe the future is very good to them.

    Avenged can literally write anything. If they ever lose a fan base, they can easily change it up and gain another. SO many people have never even heard them before. And even with the changes I feel most would still follow the band because they know how well they can adapt to the sound they are trying to achieve.

    I remember my best friend used to make fun of me for listening to Avenged, and I’d catch him getting into certain songs like Eternal Rest.. he’d be like thats cool who is that? I’d be like LOL AVENGED. People hate to admit it sometimes. They just like to chirp. I also find a lot of people who know the songs from the radio play, but they dont know the band by name. My friend went with me to the metallica show last year and she said that herself.. knew almost every song but didn’t know they played them lol.

    One thing is that I hope the band doesn’t tread the waters with radio-friendly stuff and settle in with writing generic material. I hope they continue to push the boundaries of what they can do as players, and I don’t think they can achieve that by writing 3 minute radio rock singles. This band is the best when they push the boundaries in metal by making longer and in depth compositions.
    My ultimate wish is that they’d up the heaviness and aggression just a little more, while keeping the progressive elements intact, because so many “metal” bands on the radio sound the same, whether it’s from the production standpoint or the songwriting standpoint. Avenged should be different to all of those trendy bands that just want to have radio hits.
