What effect is this?

So I was watching jeff dunham https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pH1Zaef7XXA and I was wondering if anyone knew how to play the thing he did that sounded middle eastern I guess. I wanna say it is an effect but he is picking weird it looks like and sliding just curious if anyone knew. Maybe Papa Gates can do some great teaching in this post.

Garageband has a “sitar” setting at that what that is and it should be a combination of tube burner, chorus, echo, and flanger. If you have GarageBand you can just select the default setting.

Line6 Variax guitars also have a sitar setting built in. Not sure if that’s what’s used in the video, doesn’t look like one, but I’m sure Papa Gates knows!
