Hey there everyone. I really need some help with my YouTube settings. I have a 135 subscribers on my YouTube page and I recently Uploaded as an unlisted video the Special video we made for our donors. I only sent the link to 9 people but it has had 20 views. And some of the people I have sent it to haven’t even seen it yet. I have only watched it 3 times just to make sure for a smooth upload but I didn’t know if it counted or not as a view.
I know these people personally and I know they would never share it if I told them not to and they know not to share it. I have since made it private but now I’m bummed that certain people won’t be able to see it now. Does anybody know what’s going on?

I didn’t know if that would count their views. I was hoping that that was the case but I’m not sure of that is. That would mean that almost every person would have had to have watched it at least four times. Because so far only 5 people that I have sent it to have seen it 😟

If you just click on your video it will count as a view, you can test it out. In the beginning youtube will update views immediately but later it will take some time. Maybe you clicked on your video more than 3 times or maybe the video is very short so it’s likely that people watched it more than once. There is nothing to worry about because it’s impossible to see an unlisted video without a link.

Just like how you can share q picture url to show private Facebook photos.. I wouldn’t put it past YouTube to make the same mistakes on their private videos. Sharing the direct url link bypasses the private sharing meaning.. at least in Facebook pics.
