Keep rockin with Dokken. George Lynch was FIRE on the guitar. I almost got arrested with Wild Mick Brown, but we escaped onto the tour bus, where George's "Mista Bones" guitar was... Mick let me play it.

Actually I would go If they came to Europe. They are amazing live.

I would even Bring a Picture of my fangirl shrine for Chad that I have in my room so the band can sign it.
As long as the rocks areny flying!

Seriously tho they are doing an album play through tour. Those are the best.. especially if it's a fan album. I hope you get to see it.

That's the beauty of music. Different bands touch different people. Thank God - or we'd all be listening to the same band.
You can't really argue why you like or dislike a band because it's completely subjective. I HATE Pink Floyd and Journey. I can't tell you why. I just do. Their music does zero for me. No. It actually irritates me. It's actually a visceral reaction. Like taking a big gulp of sour milk. You don't try to figure out why you don't like it - you just spit it out. I don't think they suck or they're terrible - and I certainly see why lots of people love them. They're just not for me.
In the end, it's like arguing a flavor of ice cream. Completely pointless - because we all possess different taste buds.
btw - I liked Nickleback's first album. After that, they seemed to repeat themselves or even move backwards.
Just an opinion. And if you dig The 'Back - God bless you! Be proud!
It's much braver to define yourself by what you love than what you hate.

Totally agree here. I'll make a joke about your bands.. you can make fun of mine too. Just know I know deep down that everyone has different tastes.

Hell.. avenged in its own is a love or hate band. There is no in between.

Woops, that's a typo. Pop music really never changed that much. There has always been good songs and bad songs in the charts. You don't know the bad songs from yesteryear because nobody talks about them, same counts for current pop music. Sure the fact that usually there are like 2 people who write all the songs so a lot of it the same and not rememberable at all but Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Adele and Eminem to name a few still come around every once in a while and have some great songs in the charts. The 60s were lucky for having the Beatles(27 number one hits in 8 years of recording), Rolling Stones(8 number one hits in 7 years of recording (in the 60s)) and beach boys(2 number one hits in 7 years of recording(in the 60s) and that's just to name a few. Every decade has artists who topped the charts a lot and wrote great songs. There are just a couple things a song needs to become a pop song(don't bore us get to the chorus and more importantly really great hooks) and I think the way to be original doing that became harder so yes they don't play guitar, drums and bass anymore but electronic music is difficult to make just the same, it's still chords, rhythm and melody so essentially the creative process is the same.

Bruno mars has a full band.. he doesn't write samples. Id consider him soft rock. As the same as kesha. Rainbow was definitely more a soft rock album over pop. But people generalize her as pop cause of her first few. I think the same of Bruno.. still waiting for new material from him too.

Theres quite a few pop artists that I can tolerate. Lorde is another. Her first album was so good taylor swift had to copy her sound on the reputation album. The lorde brought melodrama and that was ALL instrumental. There are some pop artists that get it.

Most of those bands that use the same high gain tone aren't really doing anything though. They are just trying to sit in between being a rock/metal band and Imagine Dragons.

Most bands that are doing proper things right now sound very different. Avenged's tone sounds nothing like Slipknot's tone which sounds nothing like Tool's tone which sounds nothing like Mastodon's tone which sounds nothing like Behemoth's tone, and so on.

I guess we can both agree that there needs to be more variety and a stronger sense of individuality within music in general.
Tools les paul tone.. 100% sounds like jade from afi. It's like they use the se guitar or something..... lol

Idk... I hear more similarities with late 70's hard rock than anything else if I were to nitpick.

Maybe AFI are drawing from the same references and inspirations as Tool so that's why it sounds similar.

Ed, Wild Mick Brown is my goddamn Hero! You need to tell us this story! Papa Lynch is a God, he got the name Mr Scary from Randy Rhoads, who said he was "scary good"!

Edward - you can talk about Dokken and Nickelback all you want, but you aren't the man if you don't listen to Vuco - one of Croatian's finest.

The title of the song means "Black Woman", I think that speaks for itself. ;)
Is it weird that I love this? Tasty solo, but that tone is horrendously bad, hahahah. The video's story reminds me of a bad MTV skit. Was this a Euro Song Contest song?

    Dokken is pretty cool!

I think this I the first reference I actually know 😂

In my country he's on the radio a lot. He also sells out the biggest concert hall(17000 people) in 5 minutes and adds another show which sells out within 5 minutes too with a lot of people wanting to get tickets still.
    Dokken is seriously underrated.

It wasn't (as far as I know). It's just this guy Siniša Vuco being himself - which is something between metal and Balkan pop/folk music.

So it being corny is the point haha.

The both use les Paul's. Obviously the tone isnt on every song.. but theres a lot of similarities to me. One reason I was easily drawn to the last 2 tool albums.

Are you going to a show, Calvin?
I wouldn't go to see nickleback. Inwouodnt enjoy the show. Right now there are no shows nest me this year. Kesha I'd windsor.. 4 hour drive. And escape fate is bc? But I just saw those guys on their this world is ours 10 year tour. They arent the same band without monte.

I expect avenged to tour. Another afi. Hoping for a slim show. The crue skipped out on Canada in general (assholes).I couldn't afford tool. Right now thatd all.in can think of that I would see if possible that are or will for sure tour this year. I always post about my shows and record every moment so just keep an eye out.
