The art teacher I had for the one year I did art in school was nowhere near that bad but I gained nothing from it either haha. I took art in 7th grade in my tiny school of at max 130 K-12 students. That year no one in Jr High took the class so I was thrust forward into the advance class with the high schoolers which most had been drawing since they were 6 or 7 so 8-10 years already while I had only really drawn what interested me for 6 months to a year at most. The teacher never gave me any basic lessons, rarely came over to help me out and would take what seemed like forever to come over to help me when I had a question because she was busy visiting with the most talented artist in the class who's parents were both talented tattoo artists and she had learned to draw very well starting from a very young age. I basically was thrown into the pool to sink or swim and I sank hard haha. Grades came out terrible and she was confused why I couldn't do some of the projects she had given out that were pretty intricate. Quite a few of the early lessons were replicating pretty detailed drawings ranging from a subway with trees and a neighborhood in the background to our school mascot which was a pretty detailed image of a lion. That class killed like 95% of any interest I had left in drawing. The classmates I had were cool and super friendly but god did I hate the projects I was given and not care for my teacher. She's a nice lady outside of school but damn did I not like her as an art teacher.
That’s horrible! My art teacher did the same she gave extra attention to the most talented people also! But I’m extremely lucky that the 12 of us in that class were so close to each other the whole 4 years. since the teacher didn’t do shit we all would give each other tips and helpful criticism.
We all took the 4 years cuz if you took all 4 years you’d get a certificate and something on your diploma which I can’t remember. so we all struggled through the class just to get a certificate.
all of us even met up after class to plan a day to all give notes to the prinipal of all the bad stuff she has done, which was a lot I literally wrote on 2 pages front and back.

She faked a car accident and claimed she hurt her arm cuz she didn’t wanna draw, we found this out cuz we saw her drawing with the hand she claimed hurt and when we told her she fake screamed, the whole class pitched together to buy stuff for a family in need before Christmas and when we gave her the stuff to bring to the office she said she bought all the stuff and we wanted nothing to do with it, when in fact she didn’t wanna do it. She’s thrown clay and chairs at people, made fun of people with disabilities and so much more!
She was such a bad teacher that I had to go to the vice principal to bump up my art mark cuz she gave me 50’s just because she didn’t like me when the rest of the class got 95 to 100 and some how she still has a job at the school, I literally warn people that go to the high school not to take art because of how bad she is
highschool was so tough for me especially music cuz again rude teachers and I got bullied like crazy! So happy it’s done and over with!
She also used one of my pieces as a bad example for one of our assignments and everyone in the class knew it was mine and the whole class yelled at her. I actually have no art from that class cuz she controlled us. You had to do it her way or no way and if it wasn’t perfect or the way she wanted she’d draw on your stuff in pen throw it out and make you restart
