This is an advanced lesson. Before watching the video and answering the questions, you might want to brush up on a few concepts outlined in the instructor notes.

Even though this may seem like an “easy” solo to play relative to other solos, emphasis on stylistic concepts such as vibrato, bending, and different types of articulation are crucial to take your playing to the next level!

This one is originally tuned a half step down but to avoid any hassle I’ll teach it in normal Drop D tuning. This is a great solo to delve into if you’re wanting to up your shred game or theory knowledge but haven’t really been exposed to it.

Like the So Far Away solo - this solo relies a lot on the stylistic feel (bending, vibrato, etc.) but this one introduces a few more advanced concepts such as sweep picking, pinch harmonics, and most of all… the CAGED system!

Like Hail to the King, this is a great solo to really start stepping into shredding territory and advance your theory knowledge a bit. A lot of feel in this one so it’s a great blend between style and shred.
