    I started doing physical therapy today, on my left arm shoulder, which has been problematic since January, and on my left knee, which has been problematic since before you were born, but got especially ornery when I tried to start running a month or so ago. I'll be good as used in eight weeks!

    The SECOND Bill Hudson Masterclass is in the books, and folks, this one was a fucking monster. Nearly three hours on the center of the music theory universe - the Major Scale. Bill connected a lot of dots for me about how theory really applies to the shapes and patterns long since burned into my memory but not really understood. His approach is genius, and I have a lot of study to do before the NEXT Masterclass down the road on beginning modes. Thanks again to the inimitable @Jak Angelescu for pulling it together and MCing. What a day!

    I just watched @Aileé Guerra Aréizaga 's video on making videos. She shares a LOT of great info in there. Every time I watch one of her videos, though, I feel bad. She's always so meticulous - her hair, makeup, dress, lighting. Even her words are as if she's memorized a script. I look to make sure there isn't cheese dripping down my shirt and hit record. I have huge respect for the effort she puts in!

    Yeah well I mean, its fun to watch once but if I want to listen to Aces High, im for sure listening to the OG version. As for the bass at the end, its the standard one so I am sure that its an extra or stock or a bass that he doesnt mind damage done to it

    I also dont think i saw any cue chalk on the end of his bass. ALWAYS gotta chalk up the end of your bass before breaking for the best spread possible!

    QUICK TIP if you play with those piss-yellow Ultex picks. Blacklight makes em glow bright if you can't find it on the carpet!

    Lol I was thinking about your status update last night. I dropped a pick and my floor ate it... but while looking for it I found my piss yellow Ultex pick! Now, any tips for finding a brown pick on hardwood floor/carpet?

    Left the blue Ibanez in today. It's the one I put the Syn pickups in. Lots of frets lifting out and there's a dip in the fretboard around the 15-18th frets. As a result, it needs a refret. The refret will cost as much as I paid for the guitar. Oh well, at least it will be BUTTAH when I get it back in a few weeks!

    @Ed Seith what's a better way of finding out if a shop does a good job refretting guitars than with a guitar that's the same price as a used car haha.

    @William Byerley Yeah it's definitely possible. I'm not sure to what extent you would want to mess with the string gauges but yeah it's definitely possible. During my second to last string change on my Schecter I accidentally broke the high e string which was a part of a 10-52 set. I didn't have another pack of 10-52's on hand and I didn't want to break into the three pack of 10-46's I had on hand. So I looked through my drawer that's got loose packs of strings from times before I learned about how to effectively change the strings on my guitar without locking tuners. I found a 9 gauge and threw that on. That worked like a charm for 7 weeks or so until it broke when I was down tuning it of all things haha.

    I've now had two hour-long deep-tissue massages to relieve the built up stress poisoning my body. Like Shrek, I've got layers like an onion. It will be one or two more sessions to work it all out (very sore and lots of swelling) but I feel better - a lot better - already. I had no idea I was in this bad of shape, stress-wise. It was noticeably impacting my playing and practice to.

    I have a serious knot in my shoulder (strap area) that's new, and one in my left bicep that's been around for months but getting worse. Definitely time for some deep tissue massage, and maybe a chiropractor. Call made. Waiting for appointment #GettingOldSucksButItBeatsTheAlternative

    Hit up Holly on Instagram! She worked in a chiropractor's office and is working towards her corrective exercise/therapy certificate! Until you go she can talk to you and figure out what you're doing and give you relief treatments and exercises🙂 she worked wonders on my shoulders!

    CoE probably changes, but I might just have to say The Wicked End. I think Matt hit a writing and performance peak on that song.

    The Crusade, it's probably To the Rats. It's not perfect, but that opening riff and most of that song are what I think of first when I think of that album.

    I realized it's time I accept that I really don't enjoy playing at tunings lower than Drop C#. I had m oldest guitars set up in Drop B (Black Ibanez) and B Standard (Red Ibanez). I've brought the red one up to EB standard and prefer it. Other one coming soon.

    I certainly enjoy LISTENING to it, with your Parkway Drives and your Periphery and your Five Finger Moose Knuckles and all that, but I just don't get into PLAYING it really. Just still learning and accepting things about my own style and taste. That's kind of a newer exploration of things for me.

    What I don't like with lower Tunings is that the lower you Go the more you rely on the Drums to give you that kick and tightness

    There are a few songs I like that are in drop B, but for my own playing I don't go lower than drop C. Maybe I'll also put it back to drop C# soon.

    With all the quaratining, I was getting a little short of exercise at home, so I bought a desk riser for my work computer setup so I could work standing up. Now, after I set it up, I realize I just lost my guitar setup and restringing workstation as a result. Sigh...

    If u know me, u know I don't do note for note solos. Every time I try to change that, I give up. Going to try again. Loaded Beast and the Harlot into Amazing Slow Downer and worked on getting notes and phrasing under fingers and into memory at about 55% speed. Let's see how I do this time.

    It IS amazing how you listen to music at different volumes. Glad you're Into it.
    But I peeked at some of Matt's Tutorials and Nick Nocturnal's playthroughs and Most Songs are actually on a 6 String in drop C#!!

    I may wind up digging into some of it then. I'm realizing that a lot of the really heavier stuff I like to listen to, I really don't enjoy playing as much anymore, so that may be part of why I never even looked into TSatS at all. The most recent Trivium track I jam to is Through Blood and Dirt and Bone. I think that's on Vengeance.

    Gotta give this one a listen! But it's really funny what you mentioned because I remember a couple of months ago I was listening to TSATS and found it was boring and didn't listen to it in a while. But that was because I listened to it at rather Low Volume in the Car. Next time I put it on I loved it again!

    Ed, I just learned the main riff from your first song. I kept playing it, eventually my friend said, "Ed, is that Van Halen"? My response was yes, of course. :)
