Most popular riff

One of my favorite songs from The Doors. I love weird and uncomfortable, music and this track is a great example of that being done well. I tried to sort of add my own takes on the weirdness to the playing to further push the more uncomfortable “out there” vibe the song presents. Some areas I think it worked, some areas it just sounds meh or flat, but uhhhh points for trying? 😅 It’s a weird song and I had a blast with it. The original is just so keyboard dominated that hearing the guitar parts played over top is a bit jarring, at least in my opinion. If you’ve never heard the song before definitely check it out, you’ll see what I mean and it’s a WILD ride. I cut off right before the solo because it’s going to take a bit more time before I can tackle that beast! Robby Krieger is a creative genius when it comes to guitar. Severally underrated by later generations imo. “The minister's daughter's in love with the snake” 🐍

  • I SHOULD stop being lazy and upload something new to the Riffs section 🤪
Been fucking around with the Mad Hatter solo again, hopefully going to get a video up in the next few days. SUCH a tasty solo to play 🤘
Really cool video. Right now my mainArea of focus playing wise is to dive deep
into the techniques and sounds of Nick Drake. He’s been one of my favorite players since I was 12 or so. His playing has always come across as too difficult or unaccessible to me. Over the last few months thats changed. I’m kicking my own ass and I’m deeply studying and practicing everything about his playing. Not to sound like him but to learn from him, and further myself as a player.

All that being said I found this video to be very informative and I hope you do too!
I was so stoked to post a riff today and the I started playing and it was a baaaad practice session soooo... yeah no haha 😅 Just one of those days where nothing went right and the self esteem takes a blow

Ooh, it's one of those. Brain says yes body says no 😅
This video is a real treat, the DWI guitar is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.
Someone in the comments said “it’s kind of like those guitars are still waiting for Dimebag to come back”, and it really does feel that way when you watch the video, when you see each case opened up.

Well.. my amazing Synner bomber was supposed to arrive today. Waiting for that thing was legit the highlight of my year, I adore it so much.. anyways, Fed Ex delivered it to god knows where (spoiler alert: not my house) 🙃 So that sucks. I filed a case with them but I’ve read online that probably won’t achieve much and they can’t seem to track down where it was delivered, SO THAT BLOWS.
That aside, I’m ready for 2021 and hope it’s a better year for everyone, 2020 just had to kick me in the nuts one last time I guess 😂😭
Wanted to post a fun solo I've been leaning but today was just a day filled with errors and mistakes and frustration with my playing over all. Definitely was not on it today 😣
But tomorrow.. tomorrow we comin back strong :green-skull::rock-hand:
    Happy Monday $ynner fam :money-face:
What are you all working on learning/ playing/ perfecting this week?

    Eruption mostly and rest, you?

    Good stuff man!
I’m continuing to train my ear so I can totally stop using tabs, eventually haha as well as relearning the Gunslinger solo, it’s one of my favorites. That’s the focus for the first half of the week anyways. I’m also making my way through papa gates blues classes and having a blast doing so
    W
Yeah those PG Blues lessons are nice, I was working on the motif one.
I haven't heard Gunslinger in awhile, not sure which is my favorite atm, toss between Paradigm and Exist.
Pretty sure it's a guitar not a horn on Exist, that slow part @10:40 and Paradigm Feels like getting hit in the face. I think it's with a whammy. Would be pretty cool to be able to read classical sheet music as well as everything by ear
Idk about you all, but I think that the new synner skull that’s one of the graphics on the ‘original syn hoodie’ and used in some promo material for the clothing line (literally this emoji :skull:) would look SUPER DOPE on his own shirt! Blow it up to a good size, throw the word “Synner” or the $ logo somewhere and slap on some cool dye/ wash/ bleach etc to really make it pop and BOOM, instant win! :skull:
I truly love hanging out with you all here. In all seriousness this is the best place on the interwebs 😄 Thanks for the constant advice and conversations friends :rock-hand:
Got my tickets for this yesterday! Mr. Bungle is saving Halloween 2020 haha.
Stoked to be technically seeing them for a second time this year (this show just obviously won’t be in person, but the first one back in February was and it was incredible)
Beyond excited for this and the album! 🎃🐰🤘

Probably an unpopular opinion but this is my favorite Pantera album, anyone else share that sentiment? It’s just so chaotic, unhinged, and dark. I adore it :green-skull:

It is a great album, and widely regarded as their best, but ranks #2 for me. I will always have a soft spot for Vulgar, it knocked me on my ass when I first heard it and it still delivers exactly what the title promises today!
    Jamie London
Vulgar and Far Beyond are always the two I see praised the most where as I see this and Reinventing The Steel getting the most flack haha. I don’t think Pantera has a bad album tbh (even glamtera is fun IMO haha). This album to me is just pure unbridled chaos and I love that. Vulgar is riiiight there for me though, just solid AF from front to back. Hollow is such an incredible closer for that VULGAR musical journey 😜
