    LEAVING FEEDBACK ON RIFF VIDEOS

Higher quality amps and recording devices are better at filtering out all of the ugly sounds, such as amplifier buzz, etc. If you watch videos of Malmsteen from the late eighties, you can sometimes hear a buzz when he finishes his licks or pulls off a bend.

    LEAVING FEEDBACK ON RIFF VIDEOS

Some critiques fail to take into account factors such as audio quality, to be honest. I also think that there's a difference between poor fretting technique and poor hand synchronization.

    Maximum dunning kruger effect. Brutal.

    ABBEY ROAD by The Beatles

To be honest, I don't really (for the most part) enjoy anything from the 20th Century from the Anglosphere before Malmsteen, Rhoads, and EVH (Two of them were literally Non-English Europeans).

Check out the sweep and economy etudes. They're extremely difficult, yet beneficial.

I also made sure to try and fix any muting issues. From listening to the isolated guitar track of the solo, my interpretation of it is that the ascending sweeps (when I go back down, vertically) are faster than the descending sweeps, which is why I sweep faster when ascending. It's also...

    Alternate Picking Exercises 3 – Lesson 75

Imagine playing the '24' exercise up and down the neck as fast as you can. That would develop insane muscle memory and synchronization. I might do that, eventually.

    > Now the big trick will be, being able to incorporate it into your regular solos. Absolutely. I've tabbed down a City of Evil inspired solo that I came up with too, but it's pretty difficult, so I haven't really played it yet, but it has a series of economy arpeggios similar to the chorus...

Syn's seventh economy etude (It sounds much cleaner in real life and my phone is a terrible medium for transmitting the sound)...

Even though I could have done much better with more practice (Although, I spent six or so frustrating hours on it today), this lick isn't easy at all. I'd go as far as to say that at full speed, it's more difficult than the entirety of the Afterlife solo, as advanced economy picking isn't easy...

Comment by 'TheTroller' in media 'When you spend hours working the second alternate picking etude up to speed and it's obscurely recognizable'

I've been working on cleaning it up today. Because I rushed it, I was siren fretting it last night (not hitting the notes precisely with the tips of my fingers, as Syn does, but with the flat part of my fingers)

0.25 speed on Youtube. The lick is three notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, six notes, and four notes.

    > possible the hand syncing is a little off I wasn't muting the strings with my pointer finger. If I was picking faster than I was fretting, there would have been a buzzing open string sound in the background the entire duration of the video. It's probably a combination of my poor fretting...

I'm just some guy from NJ, but I have developed a foolproof way to learn any instrument.

    > Step 1: Set a minimum amount of time to play, this can be any amount you can handle but I wouldn't go under 20min per day, 1 hour a day works great when you're starting out though. I like to overwork my fretting hand to exhaustion, and then I wake up with much better muscle memory.

    Guys, practice the Etudes!!

Yeah, I'm practicing the second alternate picking etude at the moment. I definitely regard it to be conducive towards my playing (intermediate level lead, not that I'm a lead guitarist in a band, but that I mostly play lead stuff) and it goes to show that this website is oriented towards all...
