Economy Picking – The 3-1-3 Pattern – Lesson 78 inspired lick

This lick that I developed employs multiple 3-1-3 patterns. I'm not sure how 'musical' it is theory-wise, but I obviously didn't play a pentatonic-based lick, as he stated in the lesson video that the 3-1-3 pattern can be played in non-pentatonic variants.

I finally came up with a riff. Don't expect too much out of it.

Can't afford this... I'll just stick with my cheap Jackson, although, I'd love a Schecter C6 Pro or something.

    Win a free pedal! 🔥

"You're just playing random notes. I can't even identify which scale that is. It sounds like two robots mating in a factory."

    Win a free pedal! 🔥

    > try utilizing this scale over your favorite backing track. I'm lazy. Are there any texts out there that tab every possible note combination (in fret numberings) for every scale?

    Win a free pedal! 🔥

I want a precise description so I can be aware of what the goal is.

    Win a free pedal! 🔥

Does it have to be a riff in particular, or can it be a series of licks, etc?

    LEAVING FEEDBACK ON RIFF VIDEOS

I'm not really for such a narrowed down definition of 'qualification'. I've seen people who've been playing fifteen years butcher solos such as Afterlife or Through the Fire and the Flames, when they can play any classic rock, eighties metal, etc solo nearly perfectly. I think that it comes down...

Comment by 'TheTroller' in media 'Here we go again with the Afterlife solo... But I corrected the buzz occuring during the transitions between the sweeps'

I uploaded the video aware that I somewhat blundered the sliding lick (5-6-13), which I generally play correctly at an eighty or so percent ratio. I've definitely noticed my tendency to play the sweeping section too fast, and I've tried to work on slowing it down recently. I'll continue working...

    LEAVING FEEDBACK ON RIFF VIDEOS

That reminds me of that hilarious video with Kirk Hammett and Bob Rock where he throws a temper tantrum because he can't play a riff with an open string.

    LEAVING FEEDBACK ON RIFF VIDEOS

Then some modern neck beard prog elitist in an unknown band will critique the tone and say the playing is sloppy
