Drums My mistake in my kicking technique

My University drum teacher basically had me doing purely hand technique for 6 months "it's just all wrong, start from scratch", it was torture 😭 but oh the benefits paid off, feeling like I was relearning how to play all over again then to surpass anything I was capable of before was rewarding!

    Guitar String Gauge

Thank you so much!! Pretty much the answer I was expecting but now I have the reassurance to just do it. And how do you find the 9-46 in drop D? Not too floppy and good tone?

    Guitar String Gauge

I've been getting more in depth with string gauge, always been a 10-52 or 10-46 person. I stumbled across a couple of forums stating that "hybrid" gauges like 10-52 put uneven tension across the neck and can cause rotation warping over time. Is this a legitimate thing or just elitist gate...

Drums Placement of Drum Kit parts?

Honestly if I have found one thing set up is constantly changing!! As said above there are some rights and wrongs, but ultimately it is personal preference and what is comfortable. Throne is definitely allowing legs to be 90° or angling slightly down, but never want to be angling up 😅. But I'll...

Drums My mistake in my kicking technique

I don't know of any literature, he was just given a bunch of info from his physio to read from having similar pains and stuff. I guess any info on leg mechanics would be easily applied, muscle groupings, function, etc.

Drums My mistake in my kicking technique

Kicking technique is something not many drummers really focus on for a long time, and the mechanics change at different tempos. It ends up being a catch up process with hand technique because that is always the main focus when starting out. One of my drum teachers said the best thing he ever did...

    Gold/black vs satin burst

Then if it is perfect to you man get it! You won't regret it 🙌🏻🙌🏻 then later on save up and get the satin burst, that's what I'm doing 😎

    Gold/black vs satin burst

This was the hardest decision I've had to make!! I was tossing up between og black/silver and satin burst. Went with the og because it is just iconic and haven't really had any issues with too many marks. I would just say go with which colour you prefer!

    Problem with messages in app

Is anyone else having issues sending messages in the app? I can't send Radu a message and I've been trying to reply to him all day 😅😅

My syn custom for sure, I don't play it as much as I would like but damn it is just so slick to play and everything feels right 🤘🏻

    What is drumming?

That'd be sick having your bro under the same roof both jamming! Collabs for riffs and media would be cool too🤘🏻

    What is drumming?

I used to think I was a good drummer until I got to university...when you start getting strictly marked on your playing you learn real quick to improve the simple things like playing in time 😅

    What is drumming?

Totally!! I have countless conversations with my guitar students saying just relax on the pick so it just softens the tone a bit, and vice versa. And thank you appreciate it!

    What is drumming?

I know the vast majority of musicians in here are guitarists so I thought I'd open up a bit of a think tank about what is drumming? It is a massive question like what is life? I'm not going to try and answer that question but simply give some points about how one goes about playing/writing/etc...
