Why can't I do this?
Syn mentioned this well at some point on this forum: "Soloing around arpeggio notes.....gives the solo an interesting sound." You can literally go note by note in a scale over a chord to hear if it sounds good or not.- Steven Huth

It takes time for sure. So my path being able to sit down with backing tracks and just play is to really learn the scales up and down and build that up. you can take it one note at a time even and just listen on how that note interacts with the chord(s) in the background.
