    I was just wondering because I practiced the very beginning riff for the solo for afterlife without an amp and then after I did that, it sounded a lot better when I plugged in compared to learning it while using the distortion

    I know I have heard people say this really helps and I personally haven’t tried it but should I not use distortion/effects when learning guitar solos? And then apply them after I’ve learned it? Cause I’m working on multiple different solos right now for gigs

    It’s okay man I’m the same way sometimes. There are days where my picking hand will just suck. And I think everyone has days like that sometimes, probably even Syn does too. (Maybe not?) Lol but just don’t worry about it. Like Ids said take a break and see what that does. You got this!

    Well I listened to it and it sounds right but when I played the solo I had to slow down my speed cause it didn’t sound as fast as it did on the album. Idk maybe I’m wrong, you can try playing it if u want to and let me know. You may be right
