    Sloppy playing?

Metronomes, they have taught me so much about lead playing and i’m sure that although it is mainly to do with the amp, if you practice the lead work with the 6505+ (Great choice btw) it will help you get used to the amp and how to deal with the change in sound. I started using a metronome about...

    Help with getting started again.

The most important thing is that its all for fun, I struggle with quite a lot of the stuff on here but i have realised not to beat myself up about it because you get what you want out of it and I just like massacring a pentatonic scale and playing southern rock, I never in a million years...

    String skipping help

Okay, the main problem I faced was the large gap between strings and trying to make the movement feel natural but hopefully this and the alternate picking videos and etudes will help.

    String skipping help

I am currently learning welcome to the family but I can’t find a good technique/ way of breaking down the string skip in the chorus melody so I can build up speed or get it to sound clean. Does anyone have ideas?

The Things I've Learned and A New Philosphy I've Adapted

I tend to do that as well, the way I learned to sweep pick worked like that. I used 2 runs in the beast and the harlot chorus and hammered on 1&1/2 tones higher so you play E———-12-15-12——– B——-13———-13—– G—-12—————12— D-14——————–14- and then repeat at the 12th fret and It has helped hugely...

What name is this scale ?

On the topic of scales does anyone know any sweep patterns that work well in a pentatonic. I wanted to mix some sweeping in with zakkk style pentatonic runs but I am unsure as to where to begin with patterns, any hints?

    Originality/creativity

This is the backing track. Its hard to explain but that I play something and then return to a lick that is played over the chord change at 8 seconds which helps build everything into the track

    Originality/creativity

I found an amazing dm backing track in the style of Zakk Wylde and it works with feel of the song and there is a lick I can return to so I am using that to build on and may post a video soon when I have the equipment to record

    Originality/creativity

Any tips on feel, as I can play scales but they don’t really lock into the chords in the song and it kind of takes the fun away from guitar when all you can do is play scales with it not sounding like it fits?
