    Underrated guitarists

I would definitely not put Nuno in the "underrated" category.

    This has been bothering me

I love Barry. My one regret is that of all the hundreds of shows I’ve been to, I never saw Barry or Neil Diamond.

    This has been bothering me

    Oh, you caught that??? LOL

    This has been bothering me

I'll give you that part, but it short-sells their real talent and accomplishment. Plus @Brian Haner Sr. will shit a kidney if he reads that.

    This has been bothering me

Not a big fan, but I'm gonna push back on part of this comment. The Beatles wrote all their songs and played all their instruments and helped pioneer a lot of shit. They were no boy band.

    Underrated guitarists

Andy Timmons is nowhere NEAR as well-known as he should be. He's a carry-over from the hair-metal era (Danger Danger) than has really become a tone and phrasing god.

    This has been bothering me

He does do a little screaming on each album, still. It's just usually behind a clean voice to reinforce it, rather than being front and center, like Trivium.

    This has been bothering me

PS: I don't like StST or WTF. Just not my cup of coffee, and that's okay. Still a big fan.

    This has been bothering me

I haven't read any of the other answers yet, and I'm sure there are some kickass responses, but this is one of the areas where each of us needs two things: #1, the courage of our convictions to know and understand that our own opinions are valid and good; and #2, remember the Golden Rule and be...

Some Life Advice - Be Proud Of Yourself

I enjoyed that one, although winding up locked in the closet with an eightball and a shotgun every twelve pages seemed a bit redundant, lol!

#WhatPapaSaid - it's always great to put LIVING FACES and VOICES (and those WONDERFUL accents!) to all the profile pics and names we get to know over time. It really humanizes it all, which is especially needed in these dark times. Much love to each and every one. Except Dominik. Fuck that guy.

    Which tuning to practice in?

Drop pedal will work directly into an interface, but without volume in-room or headphones on, it can sound terrible and throw off your playing (imagine hearing what you're playing AND the same thing ONE WHOLE STEP down at the same time! TERRIBLE!) But yes, the pitch shift will "take" in the...

Some Life Advice - Be Proud Of Yourself

Thanks, Jak. Definitely in a "situational depression" funk. Some for reasons you know, and some you don't (one that NO ONE knows, and that's part of the problem). I eat my darkness. Even when I get on a diet and lose the weight, it all comes back. And yes, my family worries about me, and those...

    Coming Soon: LIVE STREAMING

That's gonna be fun, and a game-changer for a lot of folks who want to really engage and share with the school!

    Guitar intonation

Guitars are imperfect instruments. There was an attempt to fix such problems all the way up the fretboard. They're called "true temperament" frets, and they're the squiggly frets that honestly, don't see a whole ton of use out there. The tried and true method is to intonate 12th fret fretted...

Take a break, have a meme

Wow, you got Papa Gates in the perfect Stephen Hawking pose.

    Favourite Guitar Technique to Use

I want to say bends and vibrato, but if you listen to 30 seconds of me playing, you're going to think it's artificial harmonics, and you're probably not wrong.

The final album from one of my absolute favorite guitarists, Criss Oliva!
