Hey guys! Would love some advice...

The finish on your neck could be an issue. I've found that a bare wood or oiled neck works best for schweaty stuff. If you've only got one guitar and it has a finished neck, you can consider (I say CONSIDER because you can't undo it) taking a scotch-brite pad or 0000 Steel wool to the back of...

I'm the one who commented on your Reddit post, and it was because you were being an entitled prick, which you're doing here, too. It wasn't hard to CLINK THE LINK YOU POSTED and find your toxic bullshit there.

    Slide Guitar - Lesson 18

It works in the same way that Drop D works for power chords, but with a slide and across all six strings.

    Slide Guitar - Lesson 18

I have WAY less time in with it than Papa does. I played slide for one song with my old band in the mid-90s. It was a heavier song, and I used the slide full-crunch. I also did use hybrid stuff like Papa talked about, playing fretted notes along with it, but nothing to papa's level.

    Slide Guitar - Lesson 18

You've got the start of the mechanics down, Alicia. Your muting behind the slide is good. I actually just ordered one of those Papa slides. I've been using glass for decades and I just haven't felt inspired by it in a long time, so I'll see what happens. I've always put it on the ring finger too.

    Recording directly on Linux

Using Linux for home studio work is a lesson in hating yourself. It can be done, but it will be a constant source of tweaking and repairing to keep it working. That sort of thing should be left to geeks who want to do it to see if it can be done, and not by musicians who want to actually get...

How to get a7x amp tone?

If they were all the same, I wouldn't be able to select from several hundred different ones in my AxeFX!

How to get a7x amp tone?

Not familiar enough with your amp, sorry.

How to get a7x amp tone?

Except in extreme cases (like Dime, for example), I tend to think it's best to have your own tone that suits your own needs for almost everything, rather than chasing someone else's tone every time you play their song. I have one heavy tone that I use for everything, and one lead tone that I use...

How to get a7x amp tone?

And you can't expect that amp to emulate all the best tones in the world. You get "close enough for not spending money" and call it good.

How to get a7x amp tone?

Start with the Bass, mid and Treble at 5/10 or 12 oclock, then tweak to taste. Syn's tone definitely has mids. It's not a scooped out thing like MoP or Dime's tone.

About Understanding and Reading Tabs – Lesson 5

Hi David! Proper hand position in a general state means "1 finger per fret," so doing 0-1-2-3 on the low E string should be using no fingers for the open note, then your pointer finger on the first fret, middle finger on the 2nd, and ring finger on the 3rd. If there was a 4th fret action, you...

Here. I'm not warmed up and haven't played this in forever, so it's not as clean as I would like for it to be, but it's a fun riff! First is the fret hand, then I redid it for the picking hand. It's on the YouTubes so you can slow it down. I zoomed as much as I could. Not sure how I messed up...

Oh, and Millie - BRIDGE PICKUP! He only switches to the neck pickup for the slow, sweep-type melody bit under the pre-chorus.
