    Alternate Picking Exercise 3 – Lesson 41

This one is called "Lick my Love Pump."

That last lick at the end is like the end of a chapter in a page-turner of a book. You're ready to put it down because you've reached a natural ending, but it left you wanting more, so you reach for the next chapter. What I mean is, that was a seriously tasty piece at the end there!

Very clean. That chord you've got at :31 or so is really out there, but I kinda like it!

Nice! Some cool tapping and shreddage and then you segue nicely into the chill section.

Collab final scratch take 1 - Bridge Lead

We'll see how this fits in. For possibly the first time ever in a lead, I made a chart of the key I wanted to play in (A minor) and, here's the real trick - I stuck to it. I also tried to incorporate a MOTIF from the blues lessons; first in the middle, then to wrap up at the end.

    Collab! New Update & Deadline!

Okay, so this is going to be the "final scratch track," as it were? To make sure all the pieces will fit together before the final recording? Just confirming.

Synyster Gates Custom S Loose Tremolo Bar

I don't have one of these particular guitars, but the original Floyd Rose trems have a screw on the bar that secures it to the bridge. It sounds like you may be missing that screw?

    Picking issues

Definitely. That thumb should be anchoring your pointing finger almost always.

    Picking issues

Dan, you're kinda putting it in the wrong place, at least from how the first pic looks. That thumb should be close to under your pointer finger. If you're playing in 5th position, it should be under around the 5th fret. Moving it up that high is putting MORE pressure on the wrist, I would think.

I just wanted to add my $.02 to this. Pivot notes can help with some chord changes.

    Size Pick Guitar

I think it's very personal. I do find that a lot of speed players tend to use thicker, smaller, pointier picks. I started using Jazz Stubbies (the purple rounded ones) some time in the early 1990s. I began a quest for a new "permanent" pick probably 8 or 9 years ago, and nothing has fully...
