    Tremonti vs. Syn

Tremonti is a LOT more than decent, and he's easily the most PROLIFIC guitarist of the decade, between the Creed reunion, Several Alter Bridge albums (some of them very good) and all of the Tremonti albums (4 of them - three of them excellent). You also have to take into account that while I...

    HELP! Finger independence?

You're not playing it badly, but I know what you mean. Are you thinking in threes on this? When you're playing it slowly to get it under your fingers, pick the first of every three notes a little harder - accent them, to force yourself to think in the threes. CHUNK it.

    Ibanez Roadstar II

The Ibanez Pro Rock'r bridge is VERY scarce these days. They haven't made them in DECADES. I had one, on my very first guitar. From a basic architecture perspective, it's not much different than a Floyd Rose - the bridge pivots on two fulcrum screws and the strings are counter-balanced by three...

For everyone interested in 7 strings

Solar is Ola's company, right? They are really nice looking guitars, and I've no doubt he's taking a quality road. My only Schecter was a 7 string, and after six years of just not getting into it, I finally got rid of it over this past summer.

How do you name instrumental tracks?

If nothing inspires me in the moment when it's done, I'll sit with it a few days until something does. If that NEVER happens, I usually have a Note file with random goofy names I've come up with, and I'll pick one from that. At present, I DON'T have one of those because I haven't written in...

Working on recording songs on my home studio

I use EZDrummer 2, as well. There are a number of different drum kits mic'd up that you can choose from. I would suggest NOT separating them until you're better understanding the process and have an interest in really manually manipulating the different drums dynamically during the mix. There...

    Where should I learn theory?,

Music theory is NOT required to learn songs, write songs, learn or write solos, but from experience, I can tell you that after a while, you start to realize you're missing out on something. It's like taking the first few lessons of a language and then going to a country where that language is...

Working on recording songs on my home studio

Well, this is a can of worms. Okay, so I will assume you've already GOT a "home studio setup" since you're referring to one in the possessive. Good start. If there are drums, that's what you start with, whether they're real or (more likely in a home studio) software-based. Work out your drum...

    Attention, please: Regarding Jak

A troll commented on one of her posts, and the Syn Army reacted. Trollicide was committed.

    Syn is this true???

The only positive thing I can say about Nickelback is that Kroeger has a positively VICIOUS rhythm tone.

    Syn is this true???

To be fair, NB kind of popularized this vocal style and those others are copycats, so that's more reason to loathe them...

My practice regime for my Christmas break

You BETTER go, and enjoy the experience. Sometimes a couple weeks away from guitar can give you a fresh approach or perspective, plus LIVING LIFE can do that, too. I'm excited to kick start in January on theory and blues and home studio stuff. Big things in store for 2020!

    Syn is this true???

I did try to binge Nickelback once. After about 2 hours, I found myself swinging by the Circle K for generic beer and cigarettes and heading toward the trailer park.

Comment by 'Ed Seith' in media 'Wasting Love by Iron Maiden solo cover'

Nice job. Fluence in a Les Paul, eh? Interesting! My LP is the only guitar I never changed the pickups in!

    Syn is this true???

I'm slapping my own ass right now. Don't knock it til you've tried it.

My practice regime for my Christmas break

Mine will include two and a half weeks of looking at pictures of my guitars, 2300 miles away.
