Hail to the king I cant really help with, but I have the masters for scream and can give you any combination of guitars, bass, vocals, background vocals and 808 bass drops, drums, etc. Let me know what you need and I gotchu

    String section

I know a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy. Unrelated, but I also used to live a block away from where they recorded the self titled album and where they filmed the “so far away” video in West Hollywood. I found out they filmed it after I got home from work one day. I was super pissed. I...

Hi. Does anyone have any tips for the solo to Afterlife?

I saw a couple people telling you not to perform this song, and honestly dude, I say go for it! Even if its a little too difficult to play perfectly, it’s a goal to reach for. There’s also a deadline that you have to meet and pull it all together for, and that’s how most music gigs run. Greg...

    String section

I have the masters for afterlife. I also have Almost Easy, Bat Country, Critical Acclaim, Nightmare, Scream, Seize the Day, Beast and the Harlot, and Welcome to the family. It’s pretty awesome picking them apart and listening to the nuances of each instrument, especially Jimmy’s drum parts. Also...

Hi. Does anyone have any tips for the solo to Afterlife?

Yes Chris Zoupa’s version is VERY close, although he got the legato section in the 4th bar of the solo *slightly* wrong. His version is definitely passable and 99% of people wont hear a difference

Hi. Does anyone have any tips for the solo to Afterlife?

Also I recommend downloading the tracks and practicing them through Transcribe! or the amazing slow downer software so you can slow the tracks down in listen to the nuances of how everything is played and then work your way up to full speed

Hi. Does anyone have any tips for the solo to Afterlife?

Here ya go buddy. Here are a couple of isolated tracks, one of JUST the afterlife guitar track so you can hear the solo without any other noise, JUST the drum track so you can practice the song and keep all the parts tight and in time(always follow the drummer, he/she is the backbone of the...

Metronome: Is It Doing You More Harm Than Good?

Metronomes are ESSENTIAL. I know I used to think it would ruin my feel if I used them like I would get too sterile and robotic if I used them, but this is nonsense! All a metronome is doing is giving you a sense of where the perfect downbeats are so you can feel where everything else should sit...

    Blues Theory

I always half-joke that Im a psychic or clairvoyant. This is the reason why. I posted my response on here last night^ and then was watching boxing videos this morning and lo and behold-

    Blues Theory

Yes, this is definitely C Dorian. The bass and main riff is centered around a C Blues lick, so that’s kind of solidifying the overall sound around “C”. Also they are bending the Eb up a little to add that extra blues flavor. And then the chords are Bb – F which kind of a I-V in Bb Major. But...

    New Synyster Customs

And Nicola, those are entirely different pickups. They are NOT Duncan Invaders. Ive played invaders and now I own the new pickups and the Schecter pickups have MUCH more definition. They probably used the Invaders as a jumping off point, but they are 100% NOT the same pickup. If you want to hear...

    New Synyster Customs

I think you’ll be very happy with it dude. Those pickups are definitely top notch. That bridge pickup is one of the tightest pickups Ive ever played and has a unique quality about it. Congrats!

    New Synyster Customs

I cant speak for the necks, but those schecter pickups are top notch. I’ve got a set of them and they are some of the best metal pickups Ive ever played. I have to imagine the neck is easier to play, but I also prefer thicker necks personaly becuase I feel like they vibrate a bit better and may...

    Best guitar rig under 1500$

Not the answer you were looking for, but forget about price and just get the best version of whatever you want. I just dropped cash on the Axe FX III and I could be happy using this exclusively as my rig for the rest of my life. I never really need to buy another amp or pedal unless the axe fx...

Acoustic guitar insanely hard to play – what to do?

Also, as previously mentioned by Jake, lighter gauge strings help. The only thing to consider with this is the harder you strum, the more it will throw your chords out of tune. Thats why acoustic strings are usually so thick. People like to strum hard for more volume and the heavier the strings...

Acoustic guitar insanely hard to play – what to do?

check the neck relief. Most modern acoustics still have a truss rod and that’s usually the only real adjustable thing on them. 9/10 times if your acoustic isnt playing properly, its either a poorly made acoustic or its the neck relief. Martins aren’t poorly made, so…

    EARMASTER!

It’s definitely worth the money to buy the full version! I dont know what the free version is like, and I definitely cant suggest downloading it for free on the piratebay since that’s illegal. All I can tell you is that it might be the best program out there for ALL musicians, and its an...

    EARMASTER!

I made mention of this in another post, but thought it would be a good thing to highlight for everyone here. One of the single greatest resources to improve yourself as a musician is a program called Earmaster which you can find at http://www.earmaster.com . It is literally endless exercises...

How to get "feel" in your playing??

I dont know if this is the answer you’re looking for I know for certain it is one that will help you- Practicing playing rhythmic variation. A lot of musicians dont realize this, but rhythmic variation is what REALLY determines a genre and the “feel” of a song. Most music is using the same basic...

    Bass Solo (blasphemy, I know)

Bass soloing is NOT blashphemy! A bass solo, especially in rock and metal, is a GREAT change of pace. The biggest thing piece of advice I could personally give is to give the solo, regardless of what instrument it is, the space to solo. Every instument has its place in the sonic spectrum at any...
