I am curious if anyone else has a similar story to share about a topic all beginners dread. It is those videos where it says “tutorial” and it’s just someone playing the song at 98% speed instead of full speed for a second time and they call it a tutorial. It is funny to me because I have been watching a friend of mines videos named Mrs. Smith and I have found I am able to follow along (she does this exact thing). I can’t tell if I have trained myself or I just understand the positions better and what notes would be “allowed” to go there. Anyone else have a story about these videos? They used to scare the crap out of me haha.

I have experienced these kinds of videos. It’s because they don’t know the material well enough to truly teach it. I always say, you think you know something until you have to teach it 🤗🤗

Yes I know these videos. And if they have tabs while playing it slower, it’s okay. To be honest, sometimes I prefer these types of videos because explaining every detail lasts forever and it makes you lose track easily. At some point I find myself playing the right notes but forgetting the melody. So these videos have their advantages.
