At the beginning of the song right after the divebomb, Syn plays:
—12-12-12-12– —12-12-12-12—
————–10 —————12
—12-12-12-12–
————–13 etc…
Pretty sure I screwed up that picture. The four twelves are played on the D string and the 10,12,13 are played on the G string.
Anyway…I can’t seem to get that part up to speed and I was wondering if you guys and/or Syn economy picks it?

I alternate pick the D string bits (starting on downpick), and always hit the G string notes as downstrokes. Same picking pattern for each part, so after the G string accent notes, going back to the D string starts on a downstroke again.
So, it’s like
n v n v n - n v n v n - etc.
D D D D G D D D D G
^ ^
n=downstroke
v=upstroke
D= D string note
G= G string note
^= accent (not muted, either)

I do the same as Ed, though had to really slow it down to nail it because I was having trouble with separating the notes on the G string from the D string and I was hitting them together but yes! It is alternate picking.
