Hey guys! Been away from this forum for a while (been practicing though)
I’d love to hear your opinions about this. I have my old Jackson guitar with Floyd rose bridge going out of tune all the time. I took it to the store for a setup twice in a year but the problem is still there. Should I get the Floyd rose definitely replaced?
Also the volume knob crunches a lot and doesn’t work properly even after solding. Maybe some electronics should be replaced too?
As you can see I don’t have much idea about it but I wanna know what to do before going to the store again.
Maybe I should purchase a new one but I don’t actually want a brand new guitar. I love my old lady 😊

For the volume knob, crunching is usually dust. Try getting some electronics contact cleaner spray and spray inside the pot (you can remove the knob itself, and spray the part where the shaft enters the pot, then twist it all the way on and off a few times, to see if that helps.
For the Floyd, that can be difficult to diagnose from just what you’ve said. Are you saying that you can get it completely in tune, top string to bottom, and play for a bit and then it’s out of tune, or is it more “I tune each string, and then play, and it’s STILL OUT OF TUNE! ARGH!!” So help me with which it is, and also tell me how old the strings are, and if you’ve properly stretched them. We can go from there.

    Thanks Ed!!
    I think it’s two things:
First, It is always like a quarter of a note lower than the standard tuning and if I try to get it in tune to the standard tuning it goes down again
The second is that if I tune each string it will go out of tune after playing for a couple of minutes
    Hope this helps 😬
