Well, I might be the odd one out here, but to be honest there is a catch-22 about paying for guitar sites with tabs. A lot of people got on to me and begged me to do the full hail to the king tutorial for the solo. It took so much of my time it’s not even funny. And that was just to teach it let alone tab it out. It took roughly 9 hours of video filming because I kept rambling and had to cut a lot of stuff out. Then it was editing and piecing it all together and uploading stuff and making sure you went into thorough detail. I attempted to tab out the solo for somebody. And without even getting halfway through it I was on 3 hours of working it out. That’s almost 12 hours of work that you’re not being paid to do because somebody else asked you to do it. I did all of that for free without asking a dime. Now on the other hand, there are copy right things that a lot of these tabbing artists are getting in trouble for. I hate to say it, but people need to start supporting people that do work. I don’t want to come off rude. But imagine if someone asked you to tab out a song for them and it took 12 hours to do. I had over 300 people on Instagram and on the school asking me to do the full hail to the king tutorial. And that solo Tutorial has had less than 50 views on it. So I feel like I did all that work for nothing. It takes a lot of time for people to put this kind of stuff together and I believe that people should be compensated fairly for their work. It’s sad but it’s true in my humble opinion. There are plenty of free sources so accessible on the Internet, books, DVD’s and more. Even phone apps. Musicians have to try every single method possible to make any type of money for their work these days. It’s like when you go on to youtube channels for guitarist that have a bunch of free tutorials and lessons. And then you get people begging for more stuff and they don’t pay anything to that person. That person on that channel is working plain and simple. There were so many situations that I saw where a YouTube guitarist asked for $1 a month donation for access to over 500 lessons and people were complaining about it. Nobody truly realizes the effort it takes to put something like that together.
