Issues with playing above the 12th fret?

Whenever I try to play above the 12 fret the note becomes muted or just won’t sound off properly at all. Has anyone else had this issue?

The notes are fretting out because your bridge is adjusted too low. Depending on your reasons for bringing the bridge down that far, your neck may be bowed too far, and you may need to tighten the truss rod – the neck bow should be only VERY slightly forward. If you’re not comfortable or familiar with this process, it might be better to take it to a local music shop for a “setup.” A basic setup usually costs between $50-75 US and can be the difference between a guitar that cries (in the bad way, not in the SRV way) and a guitar that sings a joyful (or angry) tune.

I did and it was because the strings were too low. Making the string height higher might work
