Jason Becker 'I want to hear your guitar solo' thing

Jason Becker shared the backing track of Valley Of fire. Now he wants people to solo over it and share it on Facebook/Twitter.
The problem I’m having is that the backing track is pretty much a loop of about 9 minutes(at least the harmony is there are like Dynamics and stuff going on), so I’m having trouble keeping my solo interesting because I kinda run out of ideas after about 4 minutes(or maybe I was in a hurry and didn’t play as good as I could have IDK).
Is anybody else doing this too?

Damn this is hard. I just tried to do a solo over it and I get bored off listening to my own solo after like 3 minutes or so because I’m repeating myself for the most part.

you can try developing a motif out of a particular part of the song and when you feel you are running out of ideas, return to the catchy part, could be like the chorus in cliffs of dover or the verse like right after the opening solo

you can mix it up. try putting everything, blues licks, jazz licks, simple pentatonics, harmonies, arpeggios, triads,chromatics….just a wild suggestion.

Thanks guys! I try to out everything in there but I tend to forget something or screw up at some point and since I don’t really have the means to only keep the good bits I kinda have to nail it all in one take.
