Playing without a cutaway?

Does anyone have any suggestions for playing up high without a cutaway? I'm trying to work on Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" to have a little fun. I'm struggling because I have an acoustic guitar without a cutaway (one of my two regrets about that guitar), and the majority of the song is around the 12th fret, where the body meets the neck. It gets uncomfortable trying to squish my hand into position. The main riff is difficult enough, to say nothing of the intro riff.

Power chords can be moved up a string and down 5 frets. Paranoid can be played using the 7th fret A string power chord:

7                              14

x                              12

These are the same chord. Move everything else in the same way.
