Push/Pull tone knobs

So I recently got a schecter omen extreme 6 FR and I noticed that it has a push/pull tone knobs and two volume knobs. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how to utilize this as I am only familiar with a two knob guitar (volume and tone). I also don’t know what the push/pull knob does other than split the humbucker pickup from what I understand.

I think that’s the only thing it does, it just splits the pickup depending on your 3 way switch position. If you look at the specs of that guitar this is what is says: Volume/Volume/Tone(Push-Pull)/3-Way Switch

I think it depends on the guitar? John Petruccios guitar uses the push pull function for a volume boost I think

What a push/pull tone knob does is disabling one of the two coils of the humbucker effectively making it a single coil. Besides that it just behaves like a regular tone knob
