My Legato is on point! My left hand flies..but my right has trouble keeping up, especially when changing strings. Any tips or exercises that will help to speed up or sync up my right?
You can Do the stuff you usually play legato but instead of playing it legato you can try and pick every note. Just start of slow and speed up gradually. At least that’s how I did it at the start. I complete ignored Hammer ons and pull offs and picked every note. Beste That you can try the alternate picking exercises you can find here
Not trying to toot my horn.. But I’m not slow by any means. I’m just having trouble getting to “Syn Speed” haha I can nail all the etudes up until the boss level lol…the sextuplets.. I can Legato that speed but when I try picking the notes, it falls apart somewhat..my right just can’t keep up
i think just slowing it right down and playing with a metronome is your best bet. i know your left hand is quick, so it will be frustrating, but in order for your left hand and your right hand to be in sync with one another you need to slow it right down. Sometimes going back to basics is the best thing you can do.
