Utilize That Pinky And Learn Licks

Hello there Everyone! I absolutely loved Nasim’s post about learning licks the other day. That lesson was actually really helpful. I finally decided to go with it. I realized that a big thing that might hinder my soloing is that I don’t really learn licks. I followed this guitarist on Instagram and he really delves into the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughan and stuff. I have been meaning to learn more licks forever but I always shied away from it. After watching Nadim’s video I decided to pick one of the licks to learn and oh my God it was fucking complicated as hell. I’ve always made the excuse that I would never be able to bend with my pinky because it’s just not that long and it’s just not that strong. But Dominik Graebber threw my own advice back in my face the other day and I realized how thankful I was that he did it. On this case it’s something I just gotta get used to. Utilizing the pinky for bends and even vibratos is extremely difficult in the beginning but I really do feel it will eventually open up a lot more fluidity in my playing and a lot more ease. If you guys have any licks that you like favorably so, please leave a video in the comment with a link of either you playing it or someone else playing it. I’m very into blues playing for lick and riffs but I’d like to see anything else whether it be funk or Jazz, bebop or anything. Thank you guys so much!
Stay Synful 😎😎

I want to make some videos on licks I like combined with theory stuff for the #teachingsyn thing.
Also I usually learn songs and steal the licks I like. I don’t think I have ever really set out to learn licks mostly because I like an example of when to use them.
